Kappa Alpha Alumni Association
"Through Striving We Shall Achieve, Through Achieving We Shall Succeed!"
History
Throughout the years, there was much conversation among alumni of the Kappa Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in forming an association to:
-
strengthen the alumni bond with the undergraduate chapter and encourage their continuance of the work of Alpha within graduate chapters and the National Organization,
-
build a stronger network among alumni and undergraduates to share experiences and opportunities,
-
form an educational foundation to sustain a collegiate scholarship fund for high achieving undergraduates, and
-
secure and maintain a permanent House of Alpha for the utilization of the undergraduate and alumni brotherhood of the Kappa Alpha Chapter. The Kappa Alpha Transition Organization was formed as a precursor group until general framework of an official organization could be determined by the alumni brotherhood.
The Kappa Alpha Alumni Association (KAAA) was officially chartered on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 12:19 PM in the Mortar Board Room of the Ferguson Center at the University of Alabama. At this meeting, the official constitution was ratified and the structure of KAAA was activated to carry out the ambitious and worthwhile goals of the newly minted organization.
